Day 2: Full Day in the Valle del Elqui and Cavas del Valle distillery
Set off on a journey into the heart of the Valle del Elqui, an area known for its vibrant energy and natural beauty. The tour begins with a visit to the impressive dam wall at the Puclaro reservoir, followed by a walk around the main square and craft markets of Vicuña, where you can buy local produce such as the famous Chilean papaya. It continues into the foothills, passing through Paihuano, where you will enjoy spectacular views from a viewpoint over the valley. Discover the secrets of the Cavas del Valle winery, a pioneer of high-altitude, organically certified wines. The trip also includes a visit to Montegrande, the village where Gabriela Mistral grew up, and a pisco distillery, where you will see how pisco is made.

Day 3: Full Day at the Humboldt Penguin National Reserve
Enjoy a unique experience exploring marine life at the Humboldt Penguin National Reserve. The day starts by travelling north to the village of Punta de Choros. From there we set out on an exciting boat trip to Isla Choros, home to a large colony of Humboldt penguins along with cormorants, pelicans, boobies and sea lions. Keep your eyes open for bottlenose dolphins and whales (seasonal). We then visit Isla Damas; conditions permitting, we go ashore to walk its trails and enjoy the calm of Playa Chica. The day ends with lunch at a local restaurant serving regional specialities.
