➜ Full Day Torres del Paine and Cueva del Milodón (Milodón Cave)
This Full Day Torres del Paine and Cueva del Milodón (Milodón Cave) allows you to explore some of the most iconic landscapes of Chilean Patagonia, visiting Torres del Paine National Park and the Cueva del Milodón Natural Monument, both located in the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctic Region, in the far south of Chile. It is an ideal full-day experience to discover panoramic viewpoints, lakes, waterfalls and natural scenery that provide a very complete representation of the surroundings of Puerto Natales.
The excursion begins with departure from your accommodation in Puerto Natales, heading toward Villa Cerro Castillo, capital of the Torres del Paine district. During the route, you will travel through Magellanic forests, glacial valleys, mountain ranges and roadside lakes, in an environment where it is common to observe native fauna such as condors, guanacos and, in some cases, flamingos.
During the day, different viewpoints and panoramic points within the park are visited, including the Sarmiento Lake Viewpoint, Laguna Amarga, Nordenskjöld Lake, Salto Grande, Pehoé Lake, Paine River and Grey Lake. In this last sector, there is time to have lunch and explore the surroundings, including short walks if weather conditions allow.
Throughout the route, there are also views of the Paine Massif, the Andes Mountain Range and different characteristic bodies of water in the area. The visit to the Cueva del Milodón Natural Monument takes place during the day, allowing you to discover this important site of historical, archaeological and paleontological interest, where the guide will provide relevant information about the findings and features of the place. Once the experience is finished, the return to the accommodation in Puerto Natales begins.
➜ Base Torres del Paine Trekking
The Base Torres del Paine Trekking allows you to experience one of the most iconic hikes in Chilean Patagonia, covering part of Torres del Paine National Park, located in the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctic Region, in the south of Chile. This activity is designed for those seeking a demanding hiking experience in one of the most recognized mountain landscapes in South America.
The excursion begins with departure from your accommodation in Puerto Natales, heading to Torres del Paine National Park via Route 9. After approximately 1 and a half hours of travel, you arrive at the Laguna Amarga Entrance Gate, where registration at CONAF takes place, and then continue to the Las Torres Reserve Welcome Center, the starting point of the trek. Before beginning the hike, the guides provide a prior safety briefing.
During the trek, the route advances through the Ascencio Valley, crossing an old bridge over the Ascencio River and ascending to El Chileno Refuge, where a rest stop is usually made. Then, the trail continues through a lenga forest, crossing streams that descend from Mount Almirante Nieto, until reaching the tree line and beginning the final ascent alongside the glacial moraine. After this last stretch, you reach the Base Torres Viewpoint, located in front of Laguna Torres, from where there are direct views of the South, Central and North towers, also known as De Agostini, Central and Monzino, together with nearby peaks such as Peineta and Nido de Cóndores. At this point, there is time to rest, enjoy the included box lunch, and then return along the same trail to the vehicle that takes you back to the accommodation in Puerto Natales.
➜ Grey Glacier Navigation
The Grey Glacier Navigation allows you to discover one of the most impressive glaciers in Torres del Paine National Park, located in Chilean Patagonia, in the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctic Region, in the south of Chile. This activity combines land transfer, hiking and navigation among floating icebergs in front of one of the most representative icy landscapes in the park.
The excursion begins with departure from your accommodation in Puerto Natales, heading toward the Hotel Lago Grey area, inside Torres del Paine National Park. After check-in for the navigation, a walk of approximately 30 to 45 minutes begins from the Río Pingo area, crossing a lenga forest, crossing a bridge and continuing along Grey Beach to the boarding point.
Once on board the catamaran, the navigation begins on Grey Lake, where it is possible to observe floating icebergs, mountains, native forests and snow-capped peaks. During the route, there are views of Paine Grande Mountain, the Paine Massif and the natural surroundings of the lake. The navigation approaches the different faces of Grey Glacier, an impressive mass of ice that is part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, allowing you to appreciate its magnitude, colors and formations.
During the experience, 1 beverage on board is included (Pisco Sour, Calafate Sour, whisky or juice). Once the navigation is finished, disembarkation takes place and afterwards the return walk along the same trail to the starting point, and then the return to the accommodation in Puerto Natales.
